Why
ORGANIC farming is a must for agro-products :
It is alarming
to note thieves of chemicals, pesticides, arsenic, mercury and other
toxic materials found in food grains, vegetables and drinking water.
New studies by Agricultural and environmental scientists have found
that with the daily food and water intake, high levels of heavy
pesticides, chemicals, metals pathogens and bacteria are ingested,
posing increased risks to diseases like cancer, high blood pressure
and mental impairment of children. Unlike pathogens and bacteria,
heavy metals and agrochemicals accumulate in the body cannot be
flushed out of the system through excreta or urine. Neither can
these be bombarded out with antibiotics.
An urban resident in India generates 300 to 500 gm,of solid waste
per day, usually applied to the agricultural field or use as "land-fill":
The figure for domestic and industrial effluents in liquid waste
is 90 liters a day. In a vicious cycle, it enriches the ground water
and soil with contaminants and the composition of raw sewage waters
point to varying degrees of toxic metal pollution. Most of the water
supplied to urban centers in India comes through the sewer system
and side-by-side, industrial effluents were discharged. The indiscriminate
use of chemicals and its adverse effects on the soil and ground
water has very serious economic repercussions. Organic farming,
away from urban areas, is the only answer to agricultural products.
We, at Dayalu, value nature and our products are organic farm based
and hygienically processed agro 'commodities. ORGANIC is not limited
to the food products itself, but most importantly how it is produced.
ORGANIC food production is based on a system of farming that maintains
and replenishes the fertility of the soil. Organic farmers are not
allowed to use synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.
